Our First Family Christmas Tree Decorating

We had our first family tree decorating tonight!  Very fun.  Jess rested in a chair and snapped a bunch of pictures (which is why she's not in any of these) while Ashley, Sam and I worked on the tree.  It's getting more and more fun to be a Daddy each year.  : )

This video is a random collection of few new things Sam has been up to.  He has recently adopted a cheer for our roommate, Ashley.  I tried to get it here but only caught a couple seconds.  Then it’s on to fingerpainting and then it ends with his “firetruck siren” that is super cute.

As of today, Sam started taking steps by himself. This isn’t the best footage, but more will be coming, to be sure!

Like father, like son...

Lately Sam has been following his Daddy's lead on a couple things. Andy sings at home often and Sam has been picking up on some of his vocal warm-ups.

He has also noticed that Daddy does push-ups on the blue yoga mat and has begun to participate in the workouts. We haven't caught the best of these moments, but here's what we have captured so far.

Two Words...99th Percentile

We have a lot of posting to catch up on. Lot's of holiday pics and videos to upload here, but we'll get to that later. For now, we would just like to let you know that Sam had his one-year check up (it's a little early) and he measured in the 99 percentile for his height.
Here's the boy in his crib. Now, keep in mind that it's not a standard-sized crib. It is a little smaller, but not much. Yep, he's pretty much filled it. I think he's going to be a tall one.

And finally, Sam is 10 months today. Sweet Sam.

Already 7 months!

Sam has grown and changed a lot these past 7 months but the changes seem to be coming faster every day. This month he is talking even more (gibberish of course), eating solids, crawling and pulling himself up to his knees, and teething with his first bottom tooth breaking through. And most of this is within the past week. We love watching him explore his surroundings. The pictures speak for themselves.

Sam is working on his next mile-marker - CRAWLING. Who knows when he'll actually figure out that he can move forward but he's getting there.
